Red Sox — Hooper singles to right field. Shean fouls out. Strunk safe on grounder to Dugan, who is wild trying for a force, Hooper to third, Strunk to second. Hoblizell strikes out. McInnis flies out to right field.
Athletics — Jamieson out. Kopp walks. Gardner bunts and McInnis is napping. Gardner safe at first, but Kopp overruns second base and is tagged out (first to shortstop?).
Third Inning
Red Sox — With one out, Hooper doubles to the right field wall. Shean flies out. Strunk flies out.
Athletics — Error by Scott allows a runner to reach. Kopp singles to center, runners at first and third with two outs. With Gardner batting, Agnew throws out Kopp trying to steal second base.
