Boston 2nd — Ruth doubled off the scoreboard in right field. McInnis singled to center, Ruth to third (slipped coming around third). Whiteman grounded out to first. Scott hit sacrifice fly to center, Ruth scored, McInnis to third. Agnew made the last out.

Boston 4th — Strunk singled past shortstop into left. Strunk stole second. Ruth struck out. McInnis singled over shortstop’s head into left, Strunk scored. Whiteman flied out. McInnis stole second. Scott safe on bunt single, McInnis scored on wild throw by Shaw.

Boston 5th — Casey replaced Ainsmith at catcher. Bush triples to the right field wall. Hooper hit a sacrifice fly to deep center, Bush scored. Shean walked and was caught stealing second. Strunk doubled. Ruth struck out and the fans hooted.

Washington 5th — Judge singled to right. Morgan singled to left. Foster walked to load bases. Casey singled to center, Judge and Morgan scored, Foster to second. A wild pitch by Bush moved Foster to third, Casey to second. Schulte singled, Foster scored, Casey to third. Mays relieved Bush. Shotton singled to right, Casey scored. Lavan safe on swinging bunt single to load the bases. Milan fouled out to catcher. Shanks singled, Shotton and Schulte scored, Lavan to third. Shanks stole second. Judge popped up for the second out. Morgan singled to right, Lavan and Shanks scored, Milan out trying for a double, right field to second.

Washington 6th — Five-run rally included 4 hits, 2 walks, an error by Mays and several stolen bases.

Washington 8th – A run scored on an infield single.
