In 1916, Vince Molyneaux tried out with the Chicago White Sox, but did not make the club. He pitched in 7 games for the St. Louis Browns the following year, walking 20 and allowing 18 hits in 22 innings.
The Browns released Molyneaux, 29 years old, early in 1918 and he was snapped up by Boston at the end of May. Ed Barrow used him sparingly, as he again had trouble with his control, averaging nearly one walk per inning. Molyneaux was sent down to minor league Jersey City in mid-July.
