Red Sox 7th: Morgan Burkhart homered deep to right with Mike Neill aboard to give Boston a 12-4 lead.

Red Sox 8th: Wilton Veras hit a three-run home run to deep left. With Burkhart on base, Aaron Capista showed opposite-field power with a blast to right-center.

Expos 8th: Mark Smith hit a long three-run homer to center off lefty Jesus Pena.

Morgan Burkhart entered the game in the 6th inning and went 4-for-4 with a double, homer and two RBI.

Frank Castillo was solid again, throwing 39 pitches, 24 for strikes. Castillo has now worked four scoreless innings in two spring starts, throwing 47 pitches and 30 strikes.

Wilton Veras and Aaron Capista also homered for the Red Sox, helped by a 30 mph wind to right.
