Season Highlights:

Spent most of the season at Albuquerque (AAA, Pacific Coast League) where he was 7-6 with a 3.81 ERA in 20 starts. Led Albuquerque with 124 strikeouts (third in the PCL). Selected to the AAA All-Star Game.

Named 10th top prospect in the Annual Top 100 poll by Baseball America. Named 3rd best prospect in the PCL by Baseball America.

Joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in September. Made his major league debut on September 24 against Cincinnati, pitching two scoreless innings of relief in an 8-4 loss. Made his first major league start on September 30 in Cincinnati and lost 3-1.

Had successful post-season surgery on his left, non-pitching shoulder on October 20. The surgery, done by Dr. Frank Jobe, is known as anterior capsulolabral reconstruction (the same type of surgery Orel Hershiser underwent in April 1990).
