Trot Nixon hit a two-run homer and Shea Hillenbrand added a three-run shot to power the Boston Red Sox to a 6-3 Grapefruit League victory over the Baltimore
Orioles. Nixon homered in the fourth inning off loser Rick Helling and Hillenbrand connected in the fifth off John Stephens to give the Red Sox a 6-2 lead.
