Some play-by-play:

Boston 1st — Damon grounded out third to first. Offerman doubled down right field line. Coleman walked. Daubach singled to center, Offerman scored, Coleman to second. Hillenbrand safe on fielder’s choice to third, Daubach out third to second, Coleman to third. Stenson struck out swinging.

Toronto 1st — Wells struck out looking. Lawrence struck out, catcher to first. Mondesi grounded out shortstop to first.

Boston 2nd — Diaz singled to right-center. Merloni struck out looking. Lomasney safe on fielder’s choice to pitcher, Diaz out at second, pitcher to second. Damon grounded out first unassisted.

Boston 7th — Plesac relieved Eyre.  Later in inning, Merloni doubled. Lomasney grounded out to end inning.

Toronto 7th — Lawrence struck out looking. Mondesi struck out looking. Delgado walked. Lesher pinch-ran for Delgado. Hinske flied out to center [Clemente].

Boston 8th — Peters relieved Plesac. Clemente flied out to right. Nelson lined out to right. Abbott singled to center. Betts grounded out second to first.

Toronto 8th — Kim relieved Fossum. Latham safe at first on 1B error. [Kim almost picked Latham off twice.] Mottola safe on SS’s error, Latham to second. Werth struck out swinging. Woodward singled to left, Latham to third, Mottola to second. Wells struck out swinging. Lawrence walked, Latham scored, Mottola to third, Woodward to second. Reed Johnson safe on bunt single, Mottola scored, Woodward to third, Lawrence to second. 

Boston 9th — WVeras grounded out. Andrews singled to left. Lofton pinch-ran for Andrews. Diaz safe on fielder’s choice, Lofton out at second. Santos pinch-ran for Diaz. FSanchez hit into fielder’s choice to third, Santos out at second.

Dunedin, Florida — Roy Halladay allowed a run over three impressive innings and Reed Johnson plated the go-ahead run in the eighth with a bunt single as the Toronto Blue Jays posted a 2-1 Grapefruit League victory over the Boston Red Sox.  

Halladay had his best outing of the spring, surrendering four hits and a walk.  He struck out four before giving way to Scott Eyre, who did not allow a walk or hit in three innings.

Toronto erased a 1-0 deficit in the eighth inning on a bases-loaded walk to Joe Lawrence and Johnson’s bunt base hit.

Boston starter Derek Lowe tossed four hitless innings and Casey Fossum followed with three hitless frames. But Sun Woo Kim allowed two hits and two walks in the eighth.

Jose Offerman had two hits and scored a run for Boston.
