Red Sox 1st – Hooper safe on Dugan’s error. Shean out. Schang hit by a pitch. Hooper and Schang try a double steal with two outs, but one of them is thrown out.
Athletics 1st – 1-2-3.
Red Sox 2nd – 1-2-3.
Athletics 2nd – Burns singles to right, Shannon strikes out. Burns steals second, as Shean drops Agnew’s perfect throw. Burns is picked off second by Bush.
Red Sox 4th – Shean walks. Strunk walks. Schang sacrifices them to second and third. McInnis singles to center, two runs score. Hoblitzell hits into a double play as his line drive is deflected by the pitcher to the second baseman. The play is recorded pitcher to second to shortstop to first.
Red Sox 6th – Hooper singles past third base into left field. Shean sacrifices him to second. Strunk triples to right field, Hooper scores. Schang singles, Strunk scores. Schang is thrown out trying to steal second. McInnis grounds out shortstop to first.

Athletics 7th – Gardner singles to right. Burns doubles past first base into right field, Gardner stops at third. Walker grounds out shortstop to first, Gardner scores, Burns to third. Shannon lines back to Bush, who throws to first for the out. Dugan flies out to left.
Red Sox 8th – Strunk walks and steals second, but isleft on base.
Athletics 8th – Oldring hits for Adams and singles to right. He is quickly picked off first by Bush.
Red Sox 9th – Geary pitching. Scott singles to left.
Athletics 9th – 1-2-3.
Notes:
Joe Bush pitched his third straight complete game victory — now 3-0.
For an exhibition game tomorrow in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the Red Sox will send second-stringers. Scott, Shean, McInnis, Agnew, Mays and Leonard go home tonight. Bush will stay with relatives until Saturday night. Dick McCabe, who started his pitching career in Bridgeport, will pitch.
Washington’s Earl Yingling is drafted into Army (6th Senator to be drafted).
